It's a precarious world out there. Never before had the medical device industy faced so many and such complex challenges - DON'T VENTURE OUT UNPREPARED.
Dodge those dreaded ECO's and ECR's with the right label specifications. to survive in the wild, make sure your tolerances can be produced and maintained accurately and consistently, time after time after time.
+ Develop tolerances based upon material and usage. Paper and machined steel do not have the same +/- .010 size tolerance.
+ Coordinate label tolerances and your printer tolerances. +/- .010 on the label is a waste of time and money if your printer is +/- .06
+ Be aware of different tolerances for print-to-die; die-to-die and print-to-sheet on the label set.
+ Work with the label printer to agree upon tolerances that meet manufacturing and production needs at the label printer and the device manufacturer.
