TLMI Honors AWT Labels & Packaging with Environmental Award
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – NOVEMBER 15, 2021 – AWT Labels & Packaging is proud to announce the company has received another Calvin Frost Sustainability Leadership Award from the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI). AWT was presented with the Journey Award for companies which have established sustainability programs and are expanding the scope of sustainability efforts and goals.
Since 2002, the TLMI Sustainability Leadership Awards have recognized converter and supplier members who have consistently demonstrated a commitment to progressive sustainability practices across a range of areas. AWT was a winner of the Trailhead Award in 2020. In selecting AWT as the winner of the Journey Award, the committee considered the way AWT has expanded their sustainability program beyond the level which merited the Trailhead Award. This expansion includes customer education tools; an established Sustainability Committee which meets regularly to review and report progress; a reduction in energy consumption of 50% due to the installation of LED lighting company-wide; and reductions in VOC emissions of 25% by integrating a new solvent recovery system.
