AWT Delivers On Promise to Improve Our Labels

Organization

Bowen’s Whiskey began when a fifth-generation moonshiner shared his formula with Wade Bowen, an eager keeper of the secret. Bowen advanced the story with modern-day chemistry, making a distillery in Bakersfield that prides itself in creating an award-winning whiskey with a smoky, California campfire taste that appeals to both scotch lovers and whiskey drinkers.

Challenge

Bowen was having trouble with the seal strip and top strip on his whiskey bottles, and he needed a new run of labels when he decided to try
AWT Labels & Packaging.

Solutions

AWT promised that it could deliver a superior product for a competitive price. Bowen found that we could:

  • Make the design “pop” more with enhancements in the printing process
  • Use embossing to improve the look
  • Add spot varnish to give the “moonshine” some more shine

Results

Bowen liked his old label, but now he realizes something was missing. “It was somewhat asleep; now it’s awake,” he said. “It definitely looks better now.” Bowen credits his AWT representative with “going above and beyond” to make the most of the artwork. “I’m a visual guy. If it’s crooked, if there’s a typo, if there’s a speck on it, I’ll notice it right away,” he said. Putting the old labels side-by-side with the new ones is like night and day, Bowen said. “I’m really happy with these new labels.”
